MustMeet Platform Types
While MustMeet is designed to generate meeting schedules between different groups of participants, there are two primary options on how to arrange and run your event. These depend on the types of participants attending and their requirements for meetings.
In this article we will cover:
Hosted Buyer / Buyer <> Supplier
The most common format. For this kind of event there are two 'sides', and meetings are created bilaterally between them. These are commonly "Suppliers"; who supply a product or service, and "Buyers"; who demand a service or product. Buyers can only have pre-scheduled meetings with Suppliers and vice versa.
This works for any two-way group setup - e.g. for "Investors" and "Start-ups".
| Type | Supplier | Buyer |
| Supplier | No meetings | Meetings |
| Buyer | Meetings | No meetings |
Specifics:
- One data type will always have more weight in terms of scoring - in other words, we count their preferences as being slightly more important that the other side's. This can be set during the scoring process.
- Meeting locations are assigned to all Suppliers OR all Buyers (Participant). Unlike non-MustMeet events, where the locations are for general use or are assigned to companies, in the MustMeet platform, booth/table locations are assigned to the participants themselves.
- Only one participant type is assigned a location, either the suppliers or the buyers.
- Buyer <> Supplier events can also include Sharers, usually on the Supplier side. More information can be found in this article.
Any2Any events
In the Any2Any MustMeet platform, any number of groups can be utilised, and every group is scored evenly. No one group has priority over another. The rules on who can meet whom are configurable through group permissions.
This is most commonly used for simpler networking setups - often only using a single group where all participants can meet each other - or for events where there are more than two groups, with some restrictions on which groups can meet.
An example setup:
| Type | Director | Investor | Co-Producer | Distributor |
| Director | Meet | Meet | Meet | No meeting |
| Investor | Meet | No meeting | Meet | Meet |
| Co-Producer | Meet | Meet | No meeting | Meet |
| Distributor | Meet | Meet | Meet | No meeting |
Specifics:
- Meeting locations are 'general' and not assigned to any type or participant.
- Generally you'll need roughly half the number of locations than the total number of participants, to ensure there are enough meeting slots to go around.
- Sharers are not supported in Any2Any events.
Setup Requirements
MustMeet will score and generate meetings automatically based on the configuration of Custom Groups in the event. Those groups require metadata tags adding to indicate the style of event - please see this article for full details.
