What's the difference between the Change Email and Transfer feature on Grip Manage?

When updating a ticket, it's important to understand the distinction between Transfer and Change Email, as they serve different purposes.

When to Use Each Option

Transfer

Use the Transfer option when the goal is to assign the ticket to a different person than the one who originally registered.

Example:
You want to transfer ownership of a ticket from Tim to John. In this case, use Transfer.

Change Email

Use Change Email only to correct minor typos in the email address provided by the attendee.

Example:
Correcting a typo from tim@grip.event to tim@grip.events.

Important Notes

  • Do not use Change Email to reassign ownership of a ticket.

  • Use Transfer whenever the person associated with the ticket changes.
